Hotel Information for Our Out-of-Town Guests

Since the wedding is Memorial Day Weekend and Charlotte, NC is the home of the Lowe's Motor Speedway, we once again want you to be aware that the Coca-Cola 600 race is that weekend, as well. The bottom line is that tons of people come to Charlotte for this event. In fact, so many people will be in the area that a few blocks of Tryon Street in uptown Charlotte will be closed for three days (May 24-May 26) for Speed Street to celebrate the upcoming race on May 27. Since so many people attending the race will be from out-of-town, as you possibly are, they will need a hotel.

The wedding reception will be at the Charlotte Marriott SouthPark as indicated in your invitation. While we have requested a block of rooms at that Marriott, there is a limited supply, so you will encounter problems when making reservations there. As an alternative, we have blocked rooms at the Doubletree Guest Suites, which is directly across the street from the Charlotte Marriott SouthPark. Be aware that a 2-night minimum stay is required at the Doubletree Guest Suites.

We found a few other hotels within about 5 minutes from the reception site, which are listed below:
Below is a map (click on it for a larger version) indicating where all of the hotels are with respect to the reception site. The reception is at the Charlotte Marriott SouthPark (A). The remaining hotels are indicated as follows: Doubletree Guest Suites (B), Residence Inn Charlotte SouthPark (C), and Hampton Inn (D).

If you encounter problems making a reservation at any of these hotels, please contact us immediately by email at david.m.rouse@gmail.com. Waiting to make your hotel reservations is not recommended.

Since many of you may be flying into Charlotte, NC, the map below (click on it for a larger version) shows the locations of the airport (Charlotte-Douglass International Airport - CLT), ceremony (C), and reception site (D).
